Gymnastics

We interviewed Mrs Eastmond about the gymnastics competitions that our school have entered. This is what she told us..

Firstly,  the school’s team went to   Archbishop Tennison secondary school to compete in The Croydon Gymnastics Competition. The team did extremely well, coming away with  first place for the year 5 and 6 team and second for years 3 and 4. This meant that years 5 and 6 could participate  the Croydon finals. As usual, the team did brilliantly , and winning the competition has now allowed them to qualify for the London Youth Games at Crystal Palace in July!

A lot of dedication and effort has gone in to this amazing achievement. Well done to all those involved!

Book Week!

What an amazing week! I can’t believe that it’s over so quickly, and we have to wait  another year for it to come again. Firstly,we had the author Ciaran Murtagh  come in and give us tips on our writing .Then we had the Spelling Bee ,for the first time ever in Thomas Becket history, which was an enormous success  with everyone! Later on in the week, each class received a letter from a fairy-tale character requesting help, which we had to respond to and then to tie the knot in a great week we had the fancy dress parade which everyone ,like every year, responded to with great enthusiasm and had amazing costumes.

Computing Week

This week was Computing Week! And nobody had more fun than us…the children! The  week kicked off with an  assembly where we were told what activity we were going to do that related to computers . This caused much excitement for everyone. Some year groups were making  video blogs and some others were creating music from scratch! A year 6 commented on how much she loved her challenge. Then we had a challenging   treasure hunt around the school which required the children to work together as a team. So all in all it was a outstanding week!
